Love poems for Family

I look at you and see the thing in my life,
I watch you grow and wonder
where are all the years going?
What is it you want to say but are afraid to?
I love you with all my heart and soul,
No matter what you do or say,
you are a part of me,
And a part of me will always be
there with you no matter where you go.
Just look at the stars and the same stars
I will see.
Catch the falling star
because that is sent to you from me.
You are both my world and forever will be!

Beautiful Love poems for Family

Sometimes I wish that I were back at home,
In the loving arms that held me strong.
To reassure my safety, my peace, my soul;
To let me know that everything was okay, that you were in control.
But reality has set in, my course is now set;
Guided by your love, making no move that I would regret.
You hath raised me, raised a man, a man of values indeed.
Your instructions on life I live by and have learned to take heed.
Obedience is therefore greater than any sacrifice I can make,
And I’d rather die horrifically, than your heart at any time I break.
Love you, yes indeed, far greater than any other.
A lady of profound beauty and wisdom, but above all MY MOTHER.

********

From the moment I came into this world and opened my big brown eyes,
I knew that I was looking at an Angel, because the heart, it never lies.

Through all of life’s hard struggles, this Angel has always been there.
Always hanging on when the ride got rough, always showing how much she cares.

For life is a constant struggle, more now than ever before.
Much too hard for an Angel, oh how I wish I could give her more.

The days, they pass so quickly, each one faster than the last.
But we know that we must go forward and not dwell on mistakes of the past.

And so we venture on through this hateful world, though my Angel she is always calm.
So I’ll follow on always together with this Angel that I call mom.

Love Poems for Family

Just for this morning I won’t wash clothes,
instead we will watch your favorite cartoon.
Just for this morning I won’t wash dishes,
instead we will color together.
Just for this afternoon I won’t watch my soaps;
instead we will go to the park and feed the ducks.
Just for this afternoon you and I will snuggle up on the couch
and watch a favorite movie and eat popcorn.
Just for tonight I will let you help me fix dinner
and I won’t yell at you for making a mess.
Just for tonight I won’t yell
when you splash water all over the bathroom floor.
Just for tonight when I tuck you into bed
and we snuggle together to read your favorite story
I will hold you a little tighter and a little longer
and Thank God for giving you to me.

Daddy’s Little Girl

Ever since I was little you were right by my side
Even though it may not always have been the right decision you were always along for the ride
I never realized how important you were to me until I left home
Now my eyes light up every time that you call my phone

You and mom were so young when I came
I can’t even imagine how things must have changed
You weren’t like other young dads who get up and walk out
You stayed by our side without a doubt

I am so much like you in everything that you do
I have always been like that even as a little girl too
I remember getting up early and going to work with you all day
No matter how boring it was with you I would stay

It sucks that it took moving out to see how much you meant to me
It’s amazing how much it made me open my eyes and see
If anything ever happened to you I don’t know what I would do
How I truly feel is one thing I have never told you

All little kids have that one person they look up to
That one person that can do no wrong no matter what they do
You are my hero and you always have been
Not only are you my dad but my best friend.

A Grandparent’s Love

It seems like only yesterday
Our lives were just beginning.
Your love for us never failed,
Our hearts continually mending.

It is strange to watch the time fly
Before our very eyes,
Which reminds me of the blessing,
That we have you in our lives.

To have yet to feel the touch
That’s as gentle as your hand
The closeness of our family
One could never understand.

As each of our lives
Continue to change,
Reflections of your love
In each of us remains.

You have pointed out the path
And led us along the way;
The wisdom you have planted,
We each still hold today.

You sheltered us through childhood
And saw us through today,
Taught us of the Lord above,
About faith, and how to pray.

One day we’ll all be in heaven
Dancing on the throne,
Praising God for giving us
A family like we’ve never known.

No matter where our lives may go,
We will trust the Lord above
And through it all always thank him for our grandparents’ love

Family Unique

Did you know that our family is unique?
At the dinner table, good luck if you speak.
I’m not saying they are bad,
On occasions they make me mad.

Maybe our family came from the zoo,
They really do, have more than one view.
I’m not here to lay the blame,
Seems like they’re always playing a game.

Without them, life would be boring,
Silent nights, no more snoring.
What can I say, our family is unique,
I might need a break, just for a week

My Love Poems for Family

My wonderful family, I love dearly,
From my heart, I speak sincerely.

Help me up, when I need to climb.

Always welcome me with open arms,
They make sure nothing harm’s.

I love my family, every day,
With this poem, I wish to convey.
I know they may be a little strange,
But I hope they never, ever, change

Grateful

For my family, I’m more than grateful,
I’ve been blessed, it’s truly fateful.
They always stood, right next to me,
Offered advice and help for free.

Love for my family, stems from my heart,
They taught me so much, right from the start.
Encouraged me to reach for the stars,
Helped me overcome, so many scars.

Without my family, I’d be completely lost,
Can’t imagine, the emotional cost.
I just hope, I may repay,
By loving them back, with zero delay.

They make me happy, they make me whole.
We’ve shared special moments in time,

We stuck together, we didn’t blame.
My family taught me, how to be brave,
When I was in need, they readily gave.

I love my family with my heart and soul,
They stood by me, when I had a goal.
I could only say the most beautiful things,
They help me fly, they gave me wings

Family Fun

Your family loves you a great deal,

In the park, when you guys run.

Just remember, one more thing,
With your family, you could sing.
Oops, one more thing I must remind,
Love them dearly, and be kind

Just a Kid

Your family will forgive what you did,
That’s because you’re just a kid.
But even if you get much older,
Always welcome to cry on their shoulder.

Your family will help you become someone great,
Go on the ice, and teach you to skate.
Sure they will play with you in the pool,
Make your lunch and take you to school.

They are not just here to entertain,

Don’t forget to give them lots of hugs

Family Mourns

Our family is mourning a loss that is deep,
Together we stand here, together we weep.
(name of deceased) was a person, unique and kind,
He/She will forever be on our mind.

We are saddened and angry, it’s just not fair,
(name of deceased) had so much more, with the world to share.
For many years, together we’ll grieve,
Why did he/she have to suddenly leave?

We all knew he/she had a beautiful heart,
Our special memories shall never depart.
It’s important for us, our emotions release,
May (name of deceased) forever – Rest in Peace!

Family Tree

Everyone is curious about their family tree,
How many Aunts? Was it one or three?
There’s just so much you could find,
You were living in the blind.

It’s certainly great to know your roots,
For the holidays, you’ll find recruits.
It’s just really nice to know,
What your genetic pool will show.

If your family is real small,
You may need to make a call,
Ask around and grow your tree,
With this knowledge, you’ll be free

What is Family?

What is family without a dog?
That’s like our Mayor without a blog.
You don’t need to watch what you say,
If you require help, you won’t have to pay.

A family can sometimes be a disease,
Insane migraine that smells like cheese.
I never knew what’s the big deal?
A bunch of people that eat the same meal.

In the end, it’s not that bad,
As long as Mom is not always mad.
The trick is to laugh and take this lightly,
If you need salt, just ask politely.

The Rose family

The rose is a rose,
And was always a rose.
But the theory now goes
That the apple’s a rose,
And the pear is, and so’s
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose –
But were always a rose.

I love Family so much

To be a part of a family like mine
is so divine
where love is shown
hurt is shared
our love for each other is never impaired

we talk
we laugh
we cry
but we are a family
and we do it all together
for as a family
we do it all as one

you hurt one
you hurt all
and as a family unit
we will all stand tall
for we are family
a family full of strength
a family full of love
a family no one can touch
that’s why I love my family so much

A Family Christmas

Sitting in front of the fire, Auntie Flo’s reciting a story,
it’s one about her first Christmas as a newly wed,
the same one she broadcasts every year,
but no one is listening.

Uncle Fred, ‘out to the world’ snores rhythmically
on the sofa.

Mother exhausted, having cooked the lunch,
without help, as usual,
stifles a yawn.

Dad, brow furrowed, is trying to piece together
Eddy’s lego set,
whilst Eddy glowers,
after all, it was ‘his’ present.

Joe, playing with a set of ‘disco lights’
is sending flashes of colour across the room,
straight into Grandpa’s eyes,
making him feel even more bilious
after having consumed too many chocolates.

Grandma’s knitting.
Grandma always knits on Christmas Day,
and every other day, come to that,
probably yet another scarf for what she believes is
still the war effort.

The cat, curled up on her lap, purrs contently,
oblivious of the knitting needles, waving precariously
in front of his sleepy eyes.

Susan is gazing at the TV screen, .
glued, for the umpteenth time to, ‘The Sound of Music’ movie,
singing every song, word for word,
at the top of her voice.

‘Turkey was nice’, said Auntie,
‘I was given too much’, moaned Grandpa, belching loudly.
‘Your problem is, you never can refuse a second helping’, said Grandma, ‘so it’s your own fault’.

Mother grins and asks,
‘Would anybody like another mince pie?

We are Family

we are family,
although we do not resemble
although i am black and you are white
although you are rich and i am poor

we are family,
even though i am democrat, and you are republican
even though your ancestors are from Iraq, and mine are from Africa
even though you teach the class i’m enrolled in

we are family,
although i’m a poet and you are a singer
although you are old and i am young
although i’m a gentleman and you a lady

we are family,
even though you praise Allah and I praise Jesus Christ
even though i love football and you play soccer
even though you are a Sagittarius and i’m a Cancer

we are family,
although i prefer rhythm and blues and you love blue grass
even though you have a car and i have a bus…to ride
although i have love and you are alone
even though you dress one way, and i dress the other
although my family loves me and yours does not know of you

we are family,
you and i are family,
me and you are family,
no matter what the difference is
family we are, forever
because we are here, and here is earth
and earth is our home
so here, we will live,
we are family.

Family love forever

Have u ever thought actually
What it would be like, without a family.

Family is the only one,
Where one experiences best of fun.
Family is an elegant necklace,
Whose bond may appear broken
But deep inside, their hearts are still one.

When the unwanted sorrows seem longer than a mile,
Your dear old family makes you smile.

When because of a mistake no event
Works out for your sake.
When life refuses to mend
There comes a sharp bend,
Family gives necessary amends,
To the family all worries can be sent.

In a fraction of time,
Your sorrows will leave
It may sound absurd
But you’ve got to believe.

Wherever you may be,
You belong to the pack.
And to them you can always go back.

********

Family comes together

Family comes together
For always and forever
In sickness and in health
In poverty or in wealth
Family comes together
For always and forever
Without any reason
Anytime or any season
Family comes together
For always and forever
In death or in life
In happiness or in strife
Family comes together
For always and forever
In anger or in kindness
Whether all seeing or in blindness
Family comes together
For always and forever
Whether for work or for play
They somehow find a way
For family to come together
Because families are forever.

All in a Family way

My banks are all furnished with rags,
So thick, even Freddy can’t thin ’em;
I’ve torn up my old money-bags,
Having little or nought to put in ’em.
My tradesman are smashing by dozens,
But this is all nothing, they say;
For bankrupts, since Adam, are cousins,
So, it’s all in the family way.

My Debt not a penny takes from me,
As sages the matter explain; —
Bob owes it to Tom and then Tommy
Just owes it to Bob back again.
Since all have thus taken to owing,
There’s nobody left that can pay;
And this is the way to keep going, —
All quite in the family way.

My senators vote away millions,
To put in Prosperity’s budget;
And though it were billions or trillions,
The generous rogues wouldn’t grudge it.
‘Tis all but a family hop,
‘Twas Pitt began dancing the hay;
Hands round! — why the deuce should we stop?
‘Tis all in the family way.

My labourers used to eat mutton,
As any great man of the State does;
And now the poor devils are put on
Small rations of tea and potatoes.
But cheer up John, Sawney and Paddy,
The King is your father, they say;
So ev’n if you starve for your Daddy,
‘Tis all in the family way.

My rich manufacturers tumble,
My poor ones have nothing to chew;
And, even if themselves do not grumble,
Their stomachs undoubtedly do.
But coolly to fast en famille,
Is as good for the soul as to pray;
And famine itself is genteel,
When one starves in a family way.

I have found out a secret for Freddy,
A secret for next Budget day;
Though, perhaps he may know it already,
As he, too, ‘s a sage in his way.
When next for the Treasury scene he
Announces “the Devil to pay”,
Let him write on the bills, “Nota bene,
‘Tis all in the family way.”

long Love poems for Family

My family will forever be in my heart,
My sister’s mean the world to me,
More than life,
All I ever wanted was a complete family,
To have a mother whom I never met,
My family will always remain who they are in my heart and soul,
My family is more important than my friends and my lover,
Family will always come first,
Family is family,
No matter what they did they’ll always remain family.

The Family Tree

We’ve got a family album
Like a family tree
A thrill to turn the pages
The pictures we can see

Starting off with grands and greats
Then slowly down the line
Like a book of history
A journey through the time

Fashions start to alter
Mustaches come and go
Ladies skirts skip up and down
A proper fashion show

Top hats change to boaters
To caps then none at all
Ladies bonnets disappear
And so does grannies shawl

Picture’s change to colour
Black and white has gone
A different place, a different time
So much to look upon

But what is so amazing
Is the likeness we can see
Showing up the genes
Right through our family tree

Family First

Family to me has many meanings
For all are full of diverse feelings
Love and anger, both within a single one
Children who stay and children who run
Can one family be better than another?
It all depends on how they love each other
A family’s love should last forever
Bonds of love nothing can sever
For the family I have, I am happy and blessed
And nothing more truthful have I ever confessed
Family has many meanings, but one rises above
The greatest meaning of family, is that of love

Only A Dad

Only a dad, with a tired face,
Coming home from the daily race,
Bringing little of gold or fame,
To show how well he has played the game,
But glad in his heart that his own rejoice
To see him come, and to hear his voice.

Only a dad, with a brood of four,
One of ten million men or more.
Plodding along in the daily strife,
Bearing the whips and the scorns of life,
With never a whimper of pain or hate,
For the sake of those who at home await.

Only a dad, neither rich nor proud,
Merely one of the surging crowd
Toiling, striving from day to day,
Facing whatever may come his way,
Silent, whenever the harsh condemn,
And bearing it all for the love of them.

Only a dad, but he gives his all
To smooth the way for his children small,
Doing, with courage stern and grim,
The deeds that his father did for him.
This is the line that for him I pen,
Only a dad, but the best of men.

The Stick-Together Families

The stick-together families are happier by far
Than the brothers and the sisters who take separate highways are.
The gladdest people living are the wholesome folks who make
A circle at the fireside that no power but death can break.
And the finest of conventions ever held beneath the sun
Are the little family gatherings when the busy day is done.

There are rich folk, there are poor folk, who imagine they are wise,
And they’re very quick to shatter all the little family ties.
Each goes searching after pleasure in his own selected way,
Each with strangers likes to wander, and with strangers likes to play.
But it’s bitterness they harvest, and it’s empty joy they find,
For the children that are wisest are the stick-together kind.

There are some who seem to fancy that for gladness they must roam,
That for smiles that are the brightest they must wander far from home.
That the strange friend is the true friend, and they travel far astray
they waste their lives in striving for a joy that’s far away,
But the gladdest sort of people, when the busy day is done,
Are the brothers and the sisters who together share their fun.

It’s the stick-together family that wins the joys of earth,
That hears the sweetest music and that finds the finest mirth;
It’s the old home roof that shelters all the charm that life can give;
There you find the gladdest play-ground, there the happiest spot to live.
And, O weary, wandering brother, if contentment you would win,
Come you back unto the fireside and be comrade with your kin.

Home

It takes a heap o’ livin’ in a house t’ make it home,
A heap o’ sun an’ shadder, an’ ye sometimes have t’ roam
Afore ye really ‘preciate the things ye lef’ behind,
An’ hunger fer ’em somehow, with ’em allus on yer mind.
It don’t make any differunce how rich ye get t’ be,
How much yer chairs an’ tables cost, how great yer luxury;
It ain’t home t’ ye, though it be the palace of a king,
Until somehow yer soul is sort o’ wrapped round everything.

Home ain’t a place that gold can buy or get up in a minute;
Afore it’s home there’s got t’ be a heap o’ livin’ in it;
Within the walls there’s got t’ be some babies born, and then
Right there ye’ve got t’ bring ’em up t’ women good, an’ men;
And gradjerly as time goes on, ye find ye wouldn’t part
With anything they ever used — they’ve grown into yer heart:
The old high chairs, the playthings, too, the little shoes they wore
Ye hoard; an’ if ye could ye’d keep the thumb-marks on the door.

Ye’ve got t’ weep t’ make it home, ye’ve got t’ sit an’ sigh
An’ watch beside a loved one’s bed, an’ know that Death is nigh;
An’ in the stillness o’ the night t’ see Death’s angel come,
An’ close the eyes o’ her that smiled, an’ leave her sweet voice dumb.
Fer these are scenes that grip the heart, an’ when yer tears are dried,
Ye find the home is dearer than it was, an’ sanctified;
An’ tuggin’ at ye always are the pleasant memories
o’ her that was an’ is no more—ye can’t escape from these.

Ye’ve got t’ sing an’ dance fer years, ye’ve got t’ romp an’ play,
An’ learn t’ love the things ye have by usin’ ’em each day;
Even the roses ’round the porch must blossom year by year
Afore they ‘come a part o’ ye, suggestin’ someone dear
Who used t’ love ’em long ago, an’ trained ’em jes t’ run
The way they do, so’s they would get the early mornin’ sun;
Ye’ve got t’ love each brick an’ stone from cellar up t’ dome:
It takes a heap o’ livin’ in a house t’ make it home.

Life’s Scars

They say the world is round, and yet
I often think it square,
So many little hurts we get
From corners here and there.
But one great truth in life I’ve found,
While journeying to the West-
The only folks who really wound
Are those we love the best.

The man you thoroughly despise
Can rouse your wrath, ’tis true;
Annoyance in your heart will rise
At things mere strangers do;
But those are only passing ills;
This rule all lives will prove;
The rankling wound which aches and thrills
Is dealt by hands we love.

The choicest garb, the sweetest grace,
Are oft to strangers shown;
The careless mien, the frowning face,
Are given to our own.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.

Love does not grow on every tree,
Nor true hearts yearly bloom.
Alas for those who only see
This cut across a tomb!
But, soon or late, the fact grows plain
To all through sorrow’s test:
The only folks who give us pain
Are those we love the best.

The Little Boy And Old Man

Said the little boy, sometimes I drop my spoon.
Said the little old man, I do that too.
The little boy whispered, I wet my pants.
I do too, laughed the old man.
Said the little boy, I often cry.
The old man nodded. So do I.
But worst of all, said the boy,
it seems grown-ups don’t pay attention to me.
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
I know what you mean, said the little old man

Home And The Office

Home is the place where the laughter should ring,
And man should be found at his best.
Let the cares of the day be as great as they may,
The night has been fashioned for rest.
So leave at the door when the toiling is o’er
All the burdens of worktime behind,
And just be a dad to your girl or your lad–
A dad of the rollicking kind.

The office is made for the tasks you must face;
It is built for the work you must do;
You may sit there and sigh as your cares pile up high,
And no one may criticize you;
You may worry and fret as you think of your debt,
You may grumble when plans go astray,
But when it comes night, and you shut your desk tight,
Don’t carry the burdens away.

Keep daytime for toil and the nighttime for play,
Work as hard as you choose in the town,
But when the day ends, and the darkness descends,
Just forget that you’re wearing a frown–
Go home with a smile! Oh, you’ll find it worth while;
Go home light of heart and of mind;
Go home and be glad that you’re loved as a dad,
A dad of the fun-loving kind

Mother To Son

Well, son, I’ll tell you:
Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.
It’s had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor-
Bare.
But all the time
I’se been a-climbin’ on,
And reachin’ landin’s,
And turnin’ corners,
And sometimes goin’ in the dark
Where there ain’t been no light.
So, boy, don’t you turn back.
Don’t you set down on the steps.
‘Cause you finds it’s kinder hard.
Don’t you fall now-
For I’se still goin’, honey,
I’se still climbin’,
And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair

Father

My father knows the proper way
The nation should be run;
He tells us children every day
Just what should now be done.
He knows the way to fix the trusts,
He has a simple plan;
But if the furnace needs repairs,
We have to hire a man.

My father, in a day or two
Could land big thieves in jail;
There’s nothing that he cannot do,
He knows no word like “fail.”
“Our confidence” he would restore,
Of that there is no doubt;
But if there is a chair to mend,
We have to send it out.

All public questions that arise,
He settles on the spot;
He waits not till the tumult dies,
But grabs it while it’s hot.
In matters of finance he can
Tell Congress what to do;
But, O, he finds it hard to meet
His bills as they fall due.

It almost makes him sick to read
The things law-makers say;
Why, father’s just the man they need,
He never goes astray.
All wars he’d very quickly end,
As fast as I can write it;
But when a neighbor starts a fuss,
‘Tis mother has to fight it.

In conversation father can
Do many wondrous things;
He’s built upon a wiser plan
Than presidents or kings.
He knows the ins and outs of each
And every deep transaction;
We look to him for theories,
But look to ma for action.
